AblePlay Evaluators
All AblePlay evaluators have been
specially trained to meet the demands of the evaluation process by
being taught how to use the official AblePlay
evaluation tool and execute the evaluation steps. Evaluators have
degrees in special education, early childhood education, or related
therapeutic disciplines and have been previously certified by the
National Lekotek Center.
The Process
AblePlay evaluators will assess
each toy with 5 - 8 children of varying disabilities during at least
5 - 8 play experiences. Each product will be assessed using the
official AblePlay Assessment
Tool which collects quantifiable data. In addition, parent and child
observations and evaluator comments will be used. Upon completion
of the evaluation process the data will be tallied and a rating
will be assigned. A final written report will be completed on each
product. It is the content of this report that will be used if the
manufacturer chooses to opt-in to the website (read more below).
The Evaluation Process Is:
- Rigorous
- Comprehensive
- Authoritative
- Conducted by Certified Special Education & Therapy experts
- Includes Customized Play Ideas
Only AblePlay can offer this unique product profile because the nonprofit National Lekotek Center (www.lekotek.org) is the leading authority on serving children with disabilities in play-based programs.
The Rating and Consumer Website
Manufacturers will be notified of their rating and at that time
you will receive a customized AblePlay
seal with your products rating and serial number. You will be given
the seal to use on your internal or external marketing pieces, website
or packaging.
At this point you will be given the opportunity to
purchase an online Comprehensive Product Review with SALES-LINKS
for exposure to the ever-growing niche market of children with special
needs.
